An apostille is a form of authentication issued to documents for use in countries that participate in the Hague Convention of 1961. The convention is in force with the United States of America. You obtain a copy of the marriage certificate with the original signature of the City Clerk. To get the Apostille, you must then go with the marriage certificate to:
