Certified Legal Translations

All our transactions and communications are secure and confidential. Our certified translations are also notarized.

Legal translation was central to our translation services when we created our firm some 18 years ago. It is still very much our core business. The transposition of the common law concepts into civil law - and its reverse - is difficult. Our translators, often legal practitioners, are familiar with both legal systems. We are also familiar with proceedings in the International Court.

We view ourselves as a Boutique translation firm. We are easy to reach and you can talk to us directly. We take personal responsibility for all our work and pay close attention to our clients' needs (see some of our clients below).

We often translate documents that are to be served in France. See guidelines from the American Embassy in Paris: Service of Legal Documents in France. Here is the form you will need to send along with your documents: usm94_Request for Service Abroad of Judicial or Extrajudicial Documents (Bilingual French-English, Hague Convention on November 15, 1965)

We translate all types of legal documents:

We translate many other documents and language pairs on a regular basis such as Powers of Attorney, Judgments and Decisions, Depositions, Memorandum, Pleadings, Auditor Reports,  SEC and AMF Proceedings, and much more.

Testimonials

"I am associate attorney at the law firm Kellner, Herlihy, Getty, & Friedman, LLP in New York, Vice-President of the French American Bar Association and adjunct professor at Fordham University School of Law. Our firm entrusted legal translations to A&R and used their interpretation services for depositions. Their work gave us complete satisfaction. I can attest to Mr. Rousseau’s mastery of concepts, vocabulary and common law legal expression and their transposition into civil law."

Thomas Vandenabeele, Kellner, Herlihy, Getty, & Friedman, LLP

"In 2016, Didier Rousseau helped with an important investigation and prosecution by the United States Department of Justice, by providing translations from the French language into English which were very helpful and highly professional.
He showed on this occasion a fine knowledge of the American judicial system and great expertise in translating documents and records from the French language into English. I would not hesitate to call on his services again. Please do not hesitate to call me if you have any questions."
